This initiative involves the provision of advice and guidance in a number of areas including, business management, promotions, marketing, fund raising and staff development. It involves a portion of direct financial assistance which is complimented by access to the skilled and professional human resources of the KARI Community Programs Team. This initiative provides invaluable assistance to enable local Aboriginal businesses to develop sustainable business models. KARI Indigenous Employment Partnerships
This proposed initiative is likely to be delivered through a partnership arrangement with NSW TAFE. The program will offer selected Aboriginal people a work placement through the KARI workplace. Participants will also receive training and development modules through TAFE. These modules will be targeted at providing all Aboriginal participants with employment related skills such as preparing for interviews resume writing, computer literacy, time management and staff management.
This initiative will be extremely important in terms of ensuring the economic and educational empowerment of the Aboriginal community of South Western Sydney. It also represents an important program in terms of achieving KARI's Aboriginal employment objectives within the community.
