Community Support

KARI is committed to strengthening the community through a number of initiatives.

Our programs promote community growth, skill development and confidence building. KARI believes in supporting the community to become self-sufficient and strong.

Sporting Initiatives

Over the years KARI has developed some important relationships with a number of NRL Clubs. These relationships focus on developing programs and initiatives to support local Aboriginal communities. The clubs also gain a better understanding of what KARI does in the community and at the same time benefit from what KARI brings to them by way of cultural connections and learnings.

For many years now KARI and the NSWRL have partnered in delivering programs and initiatives introduced all over NSW. Key messages around healthy lifestyle, domestic violence, substance abuse, child protection and education are the focal point for these programs and initiatives. Both agencies aims are to build stronger, more resilient Aboriginal communities.

NSW Knockout Competitions

Each year KARI assists many Aboriginal communities to compete in the annual NSW Koori Knockout. Small funding grants are made available to support local men’s, women’s and youth teams participate. KARI’s regular participation in this annual event follows on from the view that strong communities create united communities.

KARI is the main sponsor for the annual Ella Sevens Rugby Union completion. Our sponsorship assists many communities to participant in this great annual event.
