As we start 2019 I’d like to recognise both our new and longer term partnerships who have helped make 2018 our most successful year since establishment. Without your continued support and commitment to our organisation, KARI would not have the ability to continue to achieve positive results for Aboriginal communities and people.
As I reflect back on 2018, I’m extremely proud that KARI was the first Indigenous organisation on the NSW State of Origin jersey and the first Indigenous organisation to be invited to join the Sydney and Western Sydney Chambers, which shows the depth of ability of our organisation to support corporate Australia along their journey into Aboriginal Australia.
I’d like to pay special tribute to HSBC who were named our 2018 Partner of the Year. The faith and trust given to KARI by HSBC and in particular Alpa Bhattacharjee, ensures our goal of changing lives and keeping culture is achievable.
2019 has seen many programs delivered already, and an announcement by the minister for social services, the Hon Paul Fletcher, of long term funding for the KARI Lead with Culture Project.
This year marks the 20th year of KARI, the growth that we have seen since our establishment is remarkable and driven by an understanding that promoting Aboriginal excellence and bringing all communities together is the key to ensuring that not just Aboriginal Australia thrives, but all of Australia is enriched with the power of Aboriginal culture. We look forward to working with you during 2019.
