Transurban, Morco Fresh, SecondBite and Woolworths, have partnered with the KARI Foundation to provide fresh fruit and vegetables for our relief hamper Program. Many members of the communities we service are those most at risk of not being able to meet basic needs. Children and Elders are especially vulnerable.
At present, we deliver hundreds of hampers per month to those most in need. This provides fresh fruit, vegetables, and household essentials for children, adults and community elders. The Community Programs team oversee the coordination and distribution of a vast majority of these hampers, which has continued during the lockdown period.
The response from our community and clients regarding the fresh fruit and vegetables component of the hamper is overwhelmingly positive with many responding that because of this support they are able to live a healthier and more nutritious lifestyle.
“To all the KARI Staff, thank-you for caring for us elderly people. From the bottom of my heart.” Uncle Ed
“You guys are the best, thank-you for thinking of all of us.” Aunty Margaret
We would like to thank Marjorie O’Neill MP for supporting our ability to cater for an increased number during covid period due to her contributions towards the transportation of the hampers in our customised KARI vans.
The team look forward to continuing to provide assistance as we head closer to the festive season and the distribution of our annual Elder Christmas hampers.
