Supporting community organisations has always been a priority here at KARI and we are again proud to have sponsored the KARI City Origin again in 2017. The Country v City clash took place at Mudgee’s Glen Willow Sports Complex on Sunday 7 May and we were proud to see the KARI logo front and centre on the KARI City Origin squad jerseys. Sadly, this was to be the final City V Country Origin match, ending an 89-year-old tradition. This partnership will always be held in high regard and we recognise the value this match brought to our ongoing work with New South Wales Rugby League.
This type of relationship that is nurtured and grown over the years demonstrates one of the many things that KARI stands for – the shared valued that comes from supporting other organisations and events.
It is not only our sporting community that we continue to support, but also the wider Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal community as a whole. Our annual Unity Day took place on Wednesday 12th April and is a fantastic way for us to bring these communities together and provide a platform for collaboration and sharing of knowledge and resources. It is also a day of fun and enjoyment for all families, giving them free access to what may be an otherwise costly day.
We shall continue to strive for excellence in the sector as we focus on supporting the children and young people in our care to become successful members contributing to their communities.
