It has been another busy month for the organisation. We have continued our support of other local Aboriginal organisations by way of sponsoring the NSWALC 40th Gala Dinner. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the fight for Land Rights and the night celebrated and commemorated the great achievements thus far.
At KARI we also appreciate when members of the community choose us as their charity of choice, so I would like to thank Hannah More who is running the New York Marathon next month and raising money for KARI as her chosen charity.
In another testament to the work we are doing for Aboriginal people and communities, KARI has been nominated for a World Business Award. We are thrilled to be recognised on a global level as we continue to strive to be the best in our field.
The NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout ran again over the October long weekend and KARI proudly sponsored a number of teams in the tournament. Well done to all the teams that participated over the weekend. We look forward to another fantastic Knockout again in 2018.
Lastly, I would like to advise that as of the 30th September 2017 I have stepped down from my position as Chief Executive Officer CEO of KARI and as of the 3rd of October 2017 the KARI Board of Management have appointed Casey Ralph as KARI’s new CEO.
The appointment of Casey to the position of CEO of KARI Ltd. and KARI Foundation will ensure a quality person will continue the tradition of ensuring that quality, culturally appropriate services and programs are maintained to the highest levels.
I leave my position feeling extremely proud of what has been achieved by so many over the past 18 years and it is here that I must sincerely thank you all for the great support and friendship shown to me during my tenure as CEO.
Whilst advising you of my decision to step down I can also advise that I will not be entirely lost to the service as I will be moving into a Director role within the newly established KARI Foundation. I look forward to continuing working with you all in my new role.
Paul Ralph
Director, KARI Foundation
