KARI’s first Fit Camp for 2020 is underway at both Liverpool and Bankstown locations. Fit Camp is a free program that is designed to be accessible to the Indigenous community. Held during the school term for a total of 8 weeks, men and women gather with qualified trainers Blake and Elise to work on becoming healthier versions of themselves.
A combination of physical activity and nutritional advice is what provides the participants with the determination to keep coming back week after week. A combination of cross training, high intensity interval training and boxing means that this program is suitable to all levels of fitness.
Not only does the KARI Fit Camp provide face to face group training, workout videos have been created for the groups, in order for them to continue their fitness journey when at home.
This program offers the Indigenous community access to free group training and education on nutrition, as well as a safe space for them talk about mental health and build their social networks.
