KARI Foundation’s Optus Scholarship students recently took part in their second mentoring workshop of the year, focusing on one of today’s most rapidly evolving technologies: Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Throughout the workshop, students explored how AI is being used in everyday life, learned how to identify AI-generated content and scams, and tested their skills by distinguishing between real and AI-generated images.
The highlight of the day saw students put their new knowledge into practice by using AI tools to design and build their own websites. Creative projects included Scam Spotters, a website designed to help users identify potential online scams, and Future Skills, a platform aimed at helping young people explore career pathways and identify training opportunities to support their goals.
The workshop provided students with valuable digital skills while encouraging innovation, critical thinking and creativity. KARI Foundation thanks Optus for their ongoing support in helping Aboriginal students build confidence and prepare for the future.
