KARI’s Community Vacation Care Program has wrapped up for another term. The July school holidays provided a load of fun for the children and young people who attended.
This free program also provided respite to parents and caretakers during what can often be a stressful time. School holidays often bring the added pressure of needing to find childcare or supervision for their children while parents continue to work full-time over the break.
These school holidays were jam-packed with a huge variety of activities. Kids were wowed by the Stardust Circus where they were entertained by African lions, monkeys and miniature trick ponies, as well as a flying trapeze troupe and crazy clowns.
A day out at the movies was also enjoyable, while another group enjoyed a round of mini golf.
Making the most of our beautiful countryside, a day trip to Katoomba to visit the Three Sisters was also on offer. Participants took part in a hands on workshop Living Country, Living Culture. This was followed by a scenic guided bush walk and lunch.
The week wrapped up with a fun day out meeting and greeting lots of animals at Calmsley Hill City Farm. We look forward to updating you again next term!
