This month we hosted our annual Charity Golf Day and I must extend a huge thank you to our fantastic partners and supporters who attended on the day. Despite the diabolical conditions, attendance on the day was unwavering, a true testament to the recognition from our supporters of the importance of such events.
We believe that this kind of support is a two-way street and as such, we are excited to announce that after many years of working closely with the South Sydney Rabbitohs, we have been named as their official Community Partner. We are very proud to be associated with a rugby league club that is so community focused.
In other news, we have since received funding to coordinate a new program, the KARI Cultural Therapeutic Camp. This fantastic initiative is aimed at Aboriginal males aged between 14 and 18 years who are part of our Out of Home Care Program.
The aim of the camp is to build character, cultural knowledge and a strong support network of positive male role models, while increasing cultural connectivity.
I look forward to bringing you an update on the first instalment of this new KARI camp later on in the year as we continue to work towards building strength in Aboriginal families and communities.
