It has been another busy month here at KARI with no signs of slowing down as we saw a number of programs running throughout the Easter Holiday period.
KARI Ltd is full steam ahead in regard to the implementation of our Family Preservation Program with nearly all family placement numbers filled. We are excited to be working with vulnerable families in a preventative model of care as opposed to the often reactive model of Out of Home Care. Early feedback from families engaged in the program is that they are excited to work alongside staff that provide support in a culturally sensitive way. Our Family Restoration program is also gaining momentum with over twenty seven (27) families working towards a case plan goal of restoration.
The KARI Foundation continues to roll out new program initiatives such as our Inaugural Netball Knockout and the Study Support Program which features in this month’s newsletter. We are close to signing off on a number of new partnership programs and I look forward to announcing these in the coming months. To all of the corporates who are currently supporting our partnership programs, I speak on behalf of the community when I say “thank you”. These programs all work towards achieving our vision of flourishing Aboriginal people and communities.
Lastly, we are excited to announce that we have officially registered KARI Foundation as a team in this year’s City2Surf. We’re encouraging our staff, carers and community to stand alongside us and extend this call out to you, our corporate partners and friends. It’s not about being the fittest or fastest but demonstrating a shared commitment to changing the lives of those who need it most.
I look forward to seeing you there at the starting line!
Regards,
Casey Ralph
