As we continue to work through these hard times, I am pleased to see an ongoing commitment from the team here at KARI in ensuing quality service delivery is continuing across the agency.
This month we have begun an exciting new initiative in partnership with SecondBite. SecondBite is a leading national food rescue organisation. They work with a range of food suppliers to rescue surplus fresh food from across the network, and redistribute it to local charities and non-profits around Australia.
Our partnership will see monthly essential food hampers packed and delivered to a number of our community Elders, filled with a variety of dry goods and fruit & vegetables. We are proud to work towards ensuring some of the most vulnerable members of our community have access to basic food supply and are provided an opportunity to check in and catch-up with the KARI team.
Across August, we also celebrated the NRL’s Indigenous Round with our partners the Sydney Roosters, Wests Tigers and South Sydney Rabbitohs.
KARI Foundation was proud to be the official Match Day partner of the Sydney Roosters with our logo appearing on their Indigenous jersey, providing an opportunity to actively collaborate towards this year’s message ‘In this Together’. In addition, an online jersey auction saw $22,000.00 raised to support the ongoing delivery of co-facilitated community programs and initiatives.
As the second half of the year continues to move steadily forward, in a time filled with so much uncertainty, we remain positive in the knowledge that we are here continuing to provide consistency of service to our community.
Stay safe, stay well.
Regards,
Casey Ralph
