Our HSBC LEAD Program held its first ever virtual zoom workshop on Wednesday 24th June. We received an overwhelming number of registrations for our new online format, so much so, that we had to split sessions over two dates to effectively accommodate the number of participants. Workshop coordinator Sarah and KARI Ambassador Beau Champion held a goal setting workshop for KARI scholarship holders. The HSBC LEAD program is provided to current KARI Scholarship holders and thanks to HSBC we are able to provide students with the opportunity to learn and grow outside of their school environment.
The program consists of a series of 3 workshops, each with different topics that will assist students in years 10, 11 and 12 with their studies. The first workshop in the series delved into the importance of goal setting and how it can assist young people on their pathway to success.
All materials for the workshop were emailed to students ahead of time, meaning they were able to engage in activities and tasks that are usually set for face to face workshops. All students who participated were engaged and enthusiastic with their answers and were excited to be involved in the program. As a reward for attending and participating in the workshop, students received a KARI Foundation & HSBC branded Hoodie.
“It was a great turn out for our first virtual workshop and I’m ecstatic that we can still connect and share with our scholarship holders. It’s great to see them getting involved and thinking about their goals. I can’t wait to catch up with them in the next few weeks to see if they’ve achieved their goals.”– Beau Champion, KARI Ambassador and LEAD Program coordinator.
Our next HSBC LEAD workshop will be held on the 4th of July for the second round of students.
