An electric atmosphere filled Allianz Stadium on Friday 7 August as the Sydney Roosters hosted their Gadhu Gathering, bringing culture, community and rugby league together for a memorable night.
As match partner for the evening, KARI had a strong presence throughout the game-day experience. The KARI Singers performed on the main stage before kick-off and again as the teams ran onto the field, alongside acclaimed Aboriginal performer Christine Anu.
KARI staff also volunteered throughout the evening, selling tickets for the 50-50 Charity Raffle. Half of the funds raised went directly to KARI, with the remaining 50 per cent awarded to one lucky winner.
On the field, the Roosters and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs delivered a fierce, hard-fought contest, adding to an already charged atmosphere inside the stadium. The annual Gadhu Gathering is a powerful celebration of Aboriginal culture and excellence, with KARI contributing both on stage and throughout the wider match-day experience.
The evening was one of several performances for the KARI Singers throughout August, with the group also appearing at events at ICC Sydney on 14 and 28 August.
