KARI are delighted to be partnered with The Sydney Roosters for the clubs first ever WNRL inaugural season.
The NRL Holden Women’s Premiership consists of 4 clubs who won 5-year licences for the competition.
These clubs include:
The first season of this history-making competition kicked off on the weekend with the Sydney Roosters taking on the New Zealand Warriors. The Warriors came away with a 10-4 victory over the Roosters. All four Women’s teams were on show over the first week of the finals, as the Broncos defeated the Dragons at Suncorp stadium 30-4.
On Tuesday the 28th of August the Sydney Roosters named their first ever WNRL team:

With the establishment of the Women’s Rugby league team, this gives KARI Foundation and the Sydney Roosters the opportunity to promote the talent of young women especially our Indigenous players.

The WNRL provides an opportunity for young women to showcase their skills and passion for rugby league. This will be the backbone to open greater pathways for women in rugby league and hopefully one day see a female NRL coach.
During the night Sydney Roosters Board Member Andrew Crawford and Roosters CEO Scott Bennetts talked about the important role women play in the game of rugby league and now have centre stage to showcase their brilliance.
