The 49th Annual NSW Koori Knockout, was held over the long weekend from 4th – 6th October, in Tuggerah, NSW.
KARI Foundation were the proud sponsors of 68 teams! Through KARI’s Koori Knockout Sponsorship Initiative, we are able to provide 2 Tiers of sponsorship to support teams on their journey to the Koori Knockout.
The Annual Koori Knockout is a big part of the Indigenous Community and provides communities with the opportunity to represent their culture and their teams’ colours. KARI Foundation are proud to support this event and provide sponsorship to teams, to ensure they get their chance to represent their clubs’ colours.
Not only is this event allow the Indigenous community to showcase their local talent across each age group, it allows for the Indigenous community to come together to celebrate in a positive environment. Families come together to support their favourite teams and take part in other events that are held on the day.
Approximately 30,000 players and fans attended this year’s knockout, labelling it the ‘modern day corroboree’. Indigenous NRL stars like Greg Inglis, Cody Walker, Tyrone Peachey and Andrew Fifita were in attendance, to show their support for their community.
This year an Under 16’s girls’ competition was introduced to showcase young talent in the community. We would like to congratulate the La Perouse Under 16’s girls’ team for winning the inaugural U/16’s competition.
