KARI Foundation’s Lead with Culture Program aims to empower Aboriginal youth between the ages of 15-21, who are disengaged from school or their community, with Aboriginal culture. This program aims to build strength, resilience and pride, as well as teach our youth the importance of what it means to be Aboriginal in modern Australia.
The program is delivering successful outcomes, returning youth to school into further education, and breaking the unemployment cycle.
Together with the Department of Social Services, this program works collaboratively with education providers, local communities, government and businesses to build strength and pride in Aboriginal young people.
“It is so important for Indigenous youth to be connected with their culture, in order for them to gain an understanding of their identity and where they belong, and the Lead with Culture program is an initiative that allows us to do this”– Danny Allende, Manager Foundation Projects
“It is very exciting to see the progress the Lead with Culture program is making, our manager Danny and his team have been working hard to ensure we are able to support Indigenous youth, whilst also supporting our corporate network with their Indigenous participation rates” said Casey Ralph, KARI CEO.
