KARI Limited’s Aboriginal Education & Employment Expo, held on Thursday 14 May, was a tremendous success, bringing together high school students, job seekers, employers, training providers and universities for a day focused on future opportunities and meaningful connections.
The event attracted more than 700 jobseekers. Students preparing for life after school had the opportunity to explore career pathways, apprenticeships, traineeships, university courses and further education options, while community members seeking employment were able to connect directly with organisations offering jobs, training and support services.
More than 60 organisations attended the Expo, representing a diverse range of industries including construction, health, education, government, engineering, transport, retail, community services and emergency services. Attendees included major employers and institutions such as TAFE NSW, University of Sydney, UTS, Australian Catholic University, NSW Police Force, NSW Ambulance, Endeavour Energy, Kmart/Target, Coles Group, Campbelltown City Council, Transport for NSW, Hostplus, Australian Defence Force Careers and many more.
The Expo provided a valuable opportunity for participants to have real conversations with employers, gain insights into different industries, and discover pathways that can help them achieve their education and employment goals.
KARI would like to thank all exhibitors, stakeholders, schools and community members who attended and contributed to making the day such a positive and inspiring event. The energy, engagement and enthusiasm shown throughout the Expo demonstrated the strength of our community and the importance of creating opportunities that connect people with their futures.
The success of this year’s Expo reinforces the importance of creating spaces where young people and job seekers can explore possibilities, build confidence and take the next step towards their goals. We can’t wait to do it all again in 2027.
