Each year the KARI’s Vocal Identification Program (VIP) participate in a student showcase concert to celebrate. Attendees of the event include families and friends of the students. Special guests from partnering organisations and teachers and staff from the students’ respective schools also attended. There was a great turnout with approximately 240 guests present on the night.
A total of 19 students performed at the concert. Each student performed a solo item and also participated in a number of group performances.
A highlight from the night was a performance by a small group of students from Ngarra Burra Ferra from the movie The Sapphires, which led to a rendition of You Are My Sunshine. This part of the evening was dedicated to special guest Mrs Hurley who has engaged with our students and is a great supporter of VIP. The concert concluded with a group finale of World Turning, which received a standing ovation.
The VIP concert gives our students the opportunity to showcase their talents and hard work in a professional venue to a supportive audience of family, friends and teachers.
The concert is a culmination of the work that the students have undertaken in workshops and rehearsals. The concert is also a chance to showcase the program to special guests and partners of the program.
