The Inaugural International Fundraising Congress in Asia ran from 26th-28th June in Bangkok, Thailand. KARI’s Marketing & Fundraising team attended the three-day conference, geared up to gain some knowledge about international fundraising.
Over 400 delegates from around the globe descended on the impressive Marriott Marquis. This was to undertake three days of workshops, seminars as well as providing networking opportunities.
IFC Asia was the only conference in the Asia Pacific region to bring together:
- NGOs
- CSRs
- Individual philanthropy
- Social enterprise fundraising
- Volunteerism.
Delegates gathered for education, networking and inspiration at this unique event that brought speakers and participants from Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, India, Australia, New Zealand, America and England plus many more.
The conference was made up of five key streams: fundraise, strategise, partner, communicate and rethink.
Day one was an intensive, full-day masterclass where delegates learnt about specific topics in detail. Days two and three were made up of conference streams.
KARI’s Grants Manager Michialle Fagan learnt a lot during the conference. “The IFC Conference was a really great opportunity to learn about international fundraising, but it also gave me a chance to remember to focus on our relationships with our funders,” she said.
“These relationships are so important to KARI and we as fundraisers need to remember this. This is so we can stand out from the crowd of NGO’s and show how amazing KARI is.”
