Voice. Treaty. Truth. Let’s work together for a shared future.
Another year, another successful NAIDOC Week. NAIDOC Week ran from the 7th to the 14th of July and is a celebration of Aboriginal culture and history, as well as taking steps towards a better future. This year’s theme acknowledges that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have always wanted an enhanced role in decision-making in Australia’s democracy.
In celebration of NAIDOC week, KARI staff attended over 10 events throughout the week across Sydney’s South West.
“NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is not only celebrated in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life.”
By partaking in NAIDOC Week activities, it allows you to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. KARI attended each event and provided the local community with information on our organisation as well as what it takes to become a carer.
