On Monday 12 September more than 650 guests attended the 2016 Brad Fittler Awards Night at The Star Event Centre. The night was an opportunity to recognise the achievements of players across all NSWRL teams and competitions, from Origin to seniors, juniors, women and Indigenous, as well as the contributions of referees and club officials.
A total of 14 awards were given out on the night, including the KARI Indigenous Achievement Award, which was taken home by Mathew Smith (Newcastle Knights). This award recognises the outstanding achievements by Indigenous players in NSW.
Josh Jackson was named as the VB Blues best player for 2016 by his teammates and coach Laurie Daley.
KARI’s is proud to support all Indigenous players in the Rugby League community and we look forward to continuing to acknowledge these player’s achievements in the years to come.
