KARI’s Greater Western Sydney Opportunity HUB team joined students and staff at Cambridge Park High School for a wellbeing event recognising R U OK? Day.
R U OK? Day is a reminder to make time for meaningful conversations and check in with the people around us. For young people navigating school, friendships and decisions about their future, knowing someone is willing to listen can make it easier to speak up when things feel difficult.
Taking part reflects the Opportunity HUB’s ongoing commitment to supporting young people and building connections with the people and services around them. Being present at school events helps our team strengthen relationships with students, making it easier to start conversations and connect them with support.
The Opportunity HUB team ran an inflatable spear throwing activity, giving students and staff the chance to test their skills and connect with the team. The school also held a colour fun run, adding to a day filled with activity, conversation and plenty of laughs.
Alongside the activities, students engaged with services and learned about the support available to them. These informal interactions create space for check-ins and reinforce the importance of looking out for one another beyond a single awareness day.
