KARI Foundation’s partnership with the Sydney Roosters continues to grow from strength to strength as we were represented by the club during the NRL’s Indigenous Round. As a part of our ongoing partnership with the Sydney Roosters, KARI Foundation’s logo was displayed on the back of their Indigenous Round jersey, which was designed by Indigenous artist, Danielle Mate Sullivan.
Danielle Mate is a contemporary Aboriginal artist who now presents her services under her business brand of DJMate (www.djmate.com.au). KARI Foundation Ltd have been working in partnership with Danielle on multiple creative arts programs to ensure we are providing Indigenous youth a pathway to express their pride in their culture through art.
Danielle explains how she worked with the Indigenous players in the Sydney Roosters to come up with the design concept. See video here.
Unfortunately, the Roosters were unable to come home with a win, the Newcastle Knights defeating them 38-12.
KARI Foundation are looking forward to continuing to grow our partnership with the Sydney Roosters, in order provide the Indigenous community with opportunities to stay connected to their culture through Rugby League.
