On 26 June, the John Holland Group team hosted a fundraising raffle as part of its monthly site BBQ at the Waterfront Brisbane project, raising an incredible $3,025 for KARI Foundation.
The event brought employees and contractors together to enjoy a BBQ, take part in the raffle and support KARI Foundation’s work with Aboriginal children, young people, families and communities.
Workplace fundraising initiatives like this create an impact well beyond the event itself. Every raffle ticket purchased contributed to a collective effort that will help KARI Foundation continue delivering culturally informed programs, services and opportunities.
The fundraiser also demonstrates how an existing workplace tradition can become a meaningful opportunity to give back. For organisations that already hold regular team BBQs, social events or site gatherings, adding a raffle or small fundraising activity can be a simple way to engage employees and support a community organisation.
These activities do not need to be complicated to make a difference. When people contribute together, individual donations can grow into significant support and create a shared sense of purpose across the workplace.
We sincerely thank the John Holland Group team and everyone at the Waterfront Brisbane site who purchased tickets, donated and helped make the fundraiser a success. Your generosity will help strengthen the reach and impact of KARI Foundation’s work.
