KARI Foundation’s *Lead with Culture (LWC) program has been able to provide support and assistance to over 250 youth in the past 12 months of operation, a milestone effort. Our cultural mentors have been supporting disengaged youth by providing pathways to employment and further education, utilising culture at the forefront of their interactions.
During July, the team have been working hard to put together care packages for engaged youth and their families. These care packages included essential items including:
- Canned food
- Pasta
- Rice
- Toilet Paper
- Hand towels
- Long life milk
- Herbs and Spices
- Pasta Sauces
The care packages were then distributed to clients on their next face to face visit. Alongside these care packs, branded LWC toiletry bags, filled with items such as shampoo, body wash, deodorant and sanitary items were also distributed.
In addition to our milestone achievement, this program continues to grow, with an expansion to the Eurobodalla and Eden Monaro areas in Bateman’s Bay, where we aim to replicate similar success for communities along the South Coast.
KARI Foundation are incredibly proud of the Lead with Culture mentors and all that they have achieved since the program commenced. We hope to continue expanding to new communities where we hope to provide guidance to disengaged youth, so they too become empowered leaders in their culture and life.
