Students at Ulladulla Public School recently came together for a hands-on Aboriginal cultural workshop delivered by KARI’s Cultural Team.
On Tuesday 15 September, KARI Cultural Liason Officers Renee, Kalmain and Kiannah visited the school, giving students from across each year group the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative artwork.
Throughout the workshop, students painted their handprints onto plywood panels, creating a colourful background for an artwork designed for the school by KARI Head of Culture & Engagement Troy Dargan.
With every student contributing their own handprint, the activity created an opportunity for the whole school to take part in the artwork and build a shared connection to the finished piece.
KARI’s cultural workshops provide schools, workplaces and organisations with opportunities to engage with Aboriginal culture through interactive, meaningful experiences. Workshops can help create spaces for learning, conversation and connection while encouraging participants to deepen their understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal culture.
