Over the past month, KARI’s Cultural Unit has delivered a range of Cultural Awareness and cultural engagement workshops across New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, working with organisations including iCare, TDG, Dexus, John Holland Group, Qantas and Wilson Security.
From cultural awareness training and discussions on the impacts of colonisation to interactive art workshops and role-play activities, participants were encouraged to engage in meaningful conversations, share personal experiences and deepen their understanding of Aboriginal culture, history and contemporary issues.
Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with many describing the sessions as insightful, engaging and thought-provoking. One participant was so inspired by a cultural art workshop that he requested additional resources to continue the activity with his children at home, highlighting the lasting impact these experiences can have beyond the workplace.
The Cultural Unit continues to support organisations across the country in building stronger cultural understanding, creating opportunities for reflection, learning and genuine connection.
