KARI supported a variety of teams who played in the 2017 Koori Knockout.
The 2017 NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout ran for four days over the October long weekend at Leichhardt Oval, kicking off on Friday 29 September.
The Redfern All Blacks, who were the returning winners for 2016, hosted another great weekend of fun for the entire community.
This year, the Newcastle Yowies had a 22-8 triumphant win over Griffith Three Ways in the final, making them the new champions.
The Knockout is more than just a sporting event. In its 47th year, it is about bringing families and communities together, celebrating culture and Indigenous football talent.
As always, the buzz around the field as spectators cheered on their clubs was fantastic with families and community members travelling from all over NSW to cheer on their teams.
A number of stalls ran over the weekend, providing visitors with the opportunity to receive access to educational resources, information and access to services, including free health checks.
KARI is proud to be an official sponsor for the following teams:
- Albury-Wodonga Munyaa’s
- Blacktown Western Warriors
- Kempsey Sharks
- La Perouse Panthers
- Riverina Sista’s
- Taree Biripi Sharks
