The annual KARI Mothers and Children’s Camp ran from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 February. The camp provides an opportunity for mothers in the community to come together and discuss parenting issues while learning new skills around parenting that strengthen family relationships. This program is facilitated by KARI staff with the assistance of a parenting consultant.
Families spent the weekend away at Vision Valley Conference Centre where they had the opportunity to engage in parenting workshops facilitated by KARI team members. They also enjoyed a large range of recreational and leisure activities.
Camps such as these are an important part of KARI’s Community Programs, which allow members of the community to engage in activities that will strengthen the bond between mother and child. The response to the camp was exceptionally positive and it was an enjoyable weekend for all who attended.
