KARI’s partnership with the Sydney Roosters continues to create opportunities for cultural learning, connection and meaningful engagement both on and off the field.
As part of a recent NRLW gift exchange at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, KARI Cultural Liaison Officer Tamalee Dargan created a special basket for the Roosters to present to the Brisbane Broncos. Inside were bracelets handmade by Roosters players during a cultural workshop Tamalee facilitated the previous month.
The exchange took place on field with a Smoking Ceremony, Tamika Upton representing the Broncos and Tarryn Aiken representing the Roosters as gifts were exchanged between the two teams.
The bracelets are intended to provide a meaningful connection back to the cultural learning shared during the workshop, while giving the players an opportunity to pass that experience on through a personal and thoughtful gift.
The moment brought culture, connection and respect together in a meaningful way, strengthening the relationship between the two teams beyond the game itself.
KARI can tailor cultural workshops to your teams requirements.
