Monday 28 March marked the official opening of the City Return and Earn depot at Mascot. The latest depot to join the TOMRA Cleanaway network will see our partnership with Clean Vibes thrive as we provide Aboriginal staff for the depot as well as for Clean Vibes managed festivals and events.
On top of these employment opportunities, the refunds from any containers returned at these events will be donated to support KARI Foundation programs and initiatives. We would like to thank the NSW Minister for Environment James Griffin MP, CEO of TOMRA Cleanaway James Dorney, A/CEO NSW EPA Jacqueline Moore and Chief Executive Officer of Exchange for Change Danielle Smalley for joining us to celebrate a tremendous opening and a milestone in a continued successful partnership.
Our very own Troy Dargan, Cultural Unit Manager, performed an Acknowledgement of Country and a smoking ceremony to commence the event.
KARI believe in the importance of sustainability for our future generations to continue to thrive on country. Our partnership with Clean Vibes will help bring more jobs to the Aboriginal community and promote the importance of the Return and Earn initiative so we can work together towards a sustainable future.
